I'm Only Getting Started (I'll Try Really Extra Hard Not To Black Out)!

Wow. I haven't written for like two friggin weeks. Boo and hiss. The reason? I got an XBOX 360 AND Starcraft on my computer. Not a great combination for a writer to be honest. If you are an aspiring writer and would like some extra curricular entertainment I would highly suggest NOT getting either of these. Try golfing.

I went to the driving range with a friend for the second time today and it was actually really fun. And golf hurts more than I thought it would, which was not at all. Good times.

This picture is from a list of the most obnoxious wedding themes. Wow.

The Night in Review

Well I just finished over a 1,000 words on my novel, Rising Sun. I know I know it's a cheesy, generic name. What do I look like to you, a marketing genius? Just kidding haha. I just haven't come up with that name that really sticks in my head ya know? Also I would just like to take this time to say again that setting a goal for at least 500 words a day is amazing! It has helped me not get overwhelmed but still make progress.

Also you prospective/current writers should watch a Simpsons episode called The Book Job. It was hilarious, spoofing the Oceans 11 movies and making fun of the writing community, specifically the young adult novel. It also strangely gave me motivation and I blasted out 1,000  words yesterday and 1,000 today! It was awesome. I'm up to chapter 3 of my book and going strong.

I've never been this far into a writing project. It feels good but I'm having a hard time staying motivated sometimes. Mostly because I feel like what's the point? Do I really expect some literary agent to pick my novel out of the slushpile and think it's going to sell a million copies, making us rich? But then I read books like  The Rhythm of Life by Matthew Kelly or You Can Heal Your Life by Louise L. Hay and feel like HECK YEAH! I should completely expect this to happen. These are excellent books and I highly suggest them to anyone!

So I guess the point of this wordy ramble: I think I'm bipolar.

And yes, that is Neil Gaiman  on the left as a yellow person. Awesome!!!

Keep on Writing.

VICTORY!

I have the first draft of the first two chapters of my novel, the as yet crappily named, Rising Sun. Yay. I'm telling you's. Just take it 500 words at a time. And by that I mean a day. Soon enough you've got some serious progress under your belt.
I finally got Miri to watch Hot Fuzz. She has refused for years because she thought it looked like just another lame action movie. But once she watched it she found that Simon Pegg is actually hilarious! Oh and so is Nick freakin Frost. Genius. Can't wait to see him in Attack the Block. Recently saw Paul. It was actually better than I thought it was going to be. Also I freakin love Kristen Wiig. She is probably the best actor on SNL, tied with Bill  Hader.
Anyways that's all for now. Go watch something Nerdy!

P.S. Check out the band The Naked and Famous and AWOLNATION. Excellent tunes. Oh also check out the soundtrack to The Fountain, specifically the song Death is the Road to Awe. It will change your life. Probably. Not. Probably not.

The Latest

What's happening in my life...
I got a new computer for AMAZINGLY cheap. And it's better than my old one AND has Windows xp instead of retarded Vista. Yay hurray.
Have started the actual writing of my book rather than working on the outline. It's... coming along.
Got the new Panic at the Disco album. So so.
That's about it. Seeya!

Three Stories Up

I finally finished the outline for my novel! It's the very first one I've ever written. Usually I write free-form(a.k.a. rambling) and it never really works out. I finished it last night so I am going to start the actual WRITING tonight or tommorrow. At the latest Wednesday. Hopefully.

On a different note...

Movies I'm Excited/Vaguely Curious To See!
I shall insert an E or VC to specify which is which.

-Immortals
VC
Honestly it kinda looks like a wannabe 300

-J. Edgar
 E
I don't think you can go wrong with Leo

-Warrior
E
This is a movie my wife will NEVER see

-The Debt
VC
Looked good at first but at the same time... what am I going to get out of it besides anxiety?

-The Big Year
VC
I'll admit a movie about bird watching seems kinda sketchy. But what the heck. Why not, right?

-Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn part 1
E&VC!!!
I'm really torn. Honestly I like the books and the movies are okay to watch. But at the same time it's almost to painful to watch them!

-THE MUPPETS!
E!
This could go either way but I'm choosing to be excited in a big way. I'm all in.

-Moneyball
E
Can't get enough Brad Pitt, right?

-In Time
VC
Meh...

-Footloose
E
Must admit I really want to see this. And my wife really doesn't. I'm totally the chick in this relationship.

-Anonymous
VC
The premise angers me but I'm willing to give it a try.

Well that's about it. I will admit my rating system leaves something to be desired. But I don't feel like making it more complicated so oh well.

In closing, let us morn two bands who have chosen this year to call it quits.

Baby You're A Classic Like A Little Black Dress a.k.a. Does It Get Old Hearing Me Say This?

I have started writing again?!!
"What what" you say, "This is news? Didn't you start writing again like ten trillion times already?"
Well first of all yes, and second of all shut up.
I am trying to do it completely right this time. Technically I haven't started the actual writing, I've just been working on crafting a KILLER outline. I don't usually do this and I think it will help because I'll actuall know where the story is going and not get overwhelmed.

In other news, Fall Out Boy needs to release some new stuff.

Ahh... Like a cold drink of water.

To Write Or Not To Write

Man alive. I cannot find the motivation to write anymore. It just seems to much. I started a short story called "Brecker House" which was trying to be a Lovecraft-esque horror and it just turned to crap because I got really bored with it and it was going nowhere.
I have ideas I want to do but I'm bogged down in trying to figure out how to do a good storyline. I just can't seem to wrap my head around it. Does anyone know a good book/website on that?
Also I'm wearing pants I hate and make me look really frumpy. I have some shorts I was going to wear that I look AWESOME in but its like fourty degrees here so ixnay on the upidstay. Or maybe I'll wear them anyways, just for the confidence. Imma need it tonight. Sometimes I definitely sound like a woman.

Writing Woes

Recently I started writing again. I found a consistent method that worked well for me. I wrote 500 words per day. If I felt so inclined I could skip weekends cause, you know, for fun! This was in Microsoft Word which I saved my computer because my Google Docs account had, for some really annoying reason, stopped allowing me to edit documents. Including New documents. SO! I had gotten up to 3000 words +  when I found out yesterday that my laptop had died while I was at work. And I don't mean died as in the battery ran out of juice. I mean croaked like... a frog dying... kind of. I mean my laptop is broken and doesn't work! BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
This is frustrating in the extreme because I had finally gotten a good groove going AND NOW I CAN'T EVEN WRITE. Plus I lost all my old info. \
    Good times.

P.S. I'm writing this from a library computer while I wait for my next stop who, juding by our phone conversation, is a total dick. So I'm super duper excited to go to his house. NOT!

A Dressing Failure

I actually did some writing work today! Crazy right?! I did some reworking of a scene (aka deleted 60% of it) and got some good character development going which actually might change the story a bit (but in a good more interesting way. Don't worry!)

I did very little actual work but I'm quite proud of it anyways because I have been in a writing rut. I haven't written for weeks, possibly up to a month. Work has been crazy... but mostly I've just been lazy. It's like I've been scared to write because the story wasn't turning out right. Hence the deleting of more than half of it. But I think I'm headed in the right direction now. Yes. Quite good.

Where should I eat lunch? I'm trying to eat healthy and lose weight before my little sis's wedding in October. I've been running a lot and working out and I've noticed some changes but I think a huge part of it is how much absolute JUNK I eat. And by that I mean I KNOW that's a huge part. Wish me luck, send light thoughts my way.

In closing, this picture says more than I ever could:

wtt

So I recently got a twitter account. Not because I think I have many thoughts that need to be shared with the world but because I like to follow certain entertainers/activists/idiots and read what they think needs to be stored in the library of congress. I have two posts. Ever. Which leads me to the point of this post: I have 3 followers on twitter.

WHAT?!!

Why are people following me? I have next to ZERO presence on twitter.

weird.

Revelations!

Do you know where the title of this blog comes from? Chances are you haven't a clue so I shall inform you (wuurd).

Saves The Day- "In My Waking Life"

Good stuff.

So. What are you doing? I am sitting in a tiny library that smells like chemical preservatives, at a computer that should have been disposed of sometime around the turn of the century. Good times right? WRONG! I'm waiting for a 6:00 appointment. It's now 3:56. Laaaame.

I've been trying to find the motivation to write.
Here are the reasons I usually don't write:
-Lazy
-Super lazy
-No training on story development/not sure how to plot out a story
-To lazy to read a book on plotting etc...

Bla. But I have great ideas! I even have some neat-o short stories. But... blah.

COOL PICTURE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Fresh Start

Hello Bloggites.

I have decided to start anew with my blog. There were a few older posts that contained personal stuff I don't particularly feel like sharing anymore and also old posts that just aren't me anymore and are actually slightly embarrassing so I decided to just delete EVERYHING and start all over.

Tis all for now. PCITURIE ITME!!!

Here we go again...

I have, once again, found a career option I am seriously considering. It takes relatively little schooling and sounds pretty awesome. Unfortunately, my fine feathered friends, I'm not quite ready to let this oxygen deprived cat out of the bag. But when I get my first bucket of cash... well you'll be hearing from me.

So how've ya'll be'en? It's been awhile since I posted anything meaningful (unlike the last post) or not slightly gay (unlike post before last). I haven't really been up to much.

Ooh one thing! I have finished a graphic novel series recently and I loved it. It's called 100 Bullets and it's not for the faint of heart my friends. This novel puts the "graphic" in "extreme graphic violence in graphic novels". But the story lines pretty rad/intense. It tells of a group of mob Houses in modern day American who have banded together to form a Trust. But the leader of the Minutemen, the disgraced former policing organization for the trust, is out to put the kibosh to the whole deal! Full of love, lust, hate, violence, redemption, condemnation, friendship, and enemies as one could cram into a single story.

P.s. Seriously kids. This one earns an M rating easily. Careful out there.

P.p.s. You might have noticed I removed the ads. Google adSense SUCKS unless you have an extremely high page views percentage.
