When All Is Said And Done

I need to post more often if only to get that stupid Shrek wedding picture off my bloody screen.

What's new? Hmm. Well I recently started working out again. That's been nice as it had been about two months since I was consistently exercising. It's coming along sloowly.

Tried watching X-Files tonight and got to freaked out being in a house that is completely unlocked. Alone except for a dog that keeps barking at nothing. With random phone calls from out of area. Not cool. Needless to say I didn't even finish the episode. Instead I watched IRON CHEF: The greatest cooking show ever!

Haven't been writing consistently either which is a bummer because near the end I was writing around a thousand words a day no sweat. Now I'm back to struggling to get my five hundred. Blah.

In parting I'd like to talk about the 2012 end of the world hooha. The Mayans said there would be an end of an era not the end of the world. But this could mean an end of the HUMAN era. Maybe it's time for another race to live on the planet. I would like to direct you to the Bloop. Please read the whole article but concentrate especially on this line:

"While the audio profile of the Bloop does resemble that of  a living creature, the source is a mystery both because it is different from known sounds and because it was several times louder than the loudest recorded animal, the blue whale"

Interesting. A sound coming from the depths of the south Pacific. What large creatures could possibly dwell there that could make a sound several times louder that the blue whale? I'm guessing the creature would ahve to be an order of magnitude larger than a blue whale to produce such a sound. But these things don't exist right? Well a good man named H.P. Lovecraft waxed poetic on the subject. He described a creature known as Cthulhu who was described thus:

"An octopus, a dragon, and a human caricature... A pulpy, tentacled head surmounted a grotesque scaly body with rudimentary wings", and "a mountain walked or stumbled".

Once again I posit the opinion: Interesting. This describes Cthulhu as a terrifying creature who was compared to a mountain. We could probably safely assume that was in relation to it's size. We can also safely assume that a mountain is larger than a blue whale. Now in reference to the depths of the south Pacific I give you this:

"(Cthulhu is) a malevolent entity trapped in an underwater city in the South Pacific called R'lyeh"

It is said, if memory serves, that Cthulhu will rise from his underwater city to once again rule the earth, his rightful kingdom. I believe there is also text on the lines of him summoning the Old or Ancients Ones, to which he is a high priest, back to earth to destroy humanity.

Now an ultra low frequency underwater sound emanating from the South Pacific... Cthulhu waking up? The 12 year old in me is fighting with adult actual me to offer up the conjecture: Cthulhu farting in his sleep?

Regardless of how old you are,I think this is some valid interesting food for thought to say the least.

I know I know. Sounds like Armageddony good times to be had by all. I suppose only time will tell.

So if that's not something to look forward to in 2012, I don't know what is.

A face only an ancient malevolent God could love.

I'm Only Getting Started (I'll Try Really Extra Hard Not To Black Out)!

Wow. I haven't written for like two friggin weeks. Boo and hiss. The reason? I got an XBOX 360 AND Starcraft on my computer. Not a great combination for a writer to be honest. If you are an aspiring writer and would like some extra curricular entertainment I would highly suggest NOT getting either of these. Try golfing.

I went to the driving range with a friend for the second time today and it was actually really fun. And golf hurts more than I thought it would, which was not at all. Good times.

This picture is from a list of the most obnoxious wedding themes. Wow.

The Night in Review

Well I just finished over a 1,000 words on my novel, Rising Sun. I know I know it's a cheesy, generic name. What do I look like to you, a marketing genius? Just kidding haha. I just haven't come up with that name that really sticks in my head ya know? Also I would just like to take this time to say again that setting a goal for at least 500 words a day is amazing! It has helped me not get overwhelmed but still make progress.

Also you prospective/current writers should watch a Simpsons episode called The Book Job. It was hilarious, spoofing the Oceans 11 movies and making fun of the writing community, specifically the young adult novel. It also strangely gave me motivation and I blasted out 1,000  words yesterday and 1,000 today! It was awesome. I'm up to chapter 3 of my book and going strong.

I've never been this far into a writing project. It feels good but I'm having a hard time staying motivated sometimes. Mostly because I feel like what's the point? Do I really expect some literary agent to pick my novel out of the slushpile and think it's going to sell a million copies, making us rich? But then I read books like  The Rhythm of Life by Matthew Kelly or You Can Heal Your Life by Louise L. Hay and feel like HECK YEAH! I should completely expect this to happen. These are excellent books and I highly suggest them to anyone!

So I guess the point of this wordy ramble: I think I'm bipolar.

And yes, that is Neil Gaiman  on the left as a yellow person. Awesome!!!

Keep on Writing.

VICTORY!

I have the first draft of the first two chapters of my novel, the as yet crappily named, Rising Sun. Yay. I'm telling you's. Just take it 500 words at a time. And by that I mean a day. Soon enough you've got some serious progress under your belt.
I finally got Miri to watch Hot Fuzz. She has refused for years because she thought it looked like just another lame action movie. But once she watched it she found that Simon Pegg is actually hilarious! Oh and so is Nick freakin Frost. Genius. Can't wait to see him in Attack the Block. Recently saw Paul. It was actually better than I thought it was going to be. Also I freakin love Kristen Wiig. She is probably the best actor on SNL, tied with Bill  Hader.
Anyways that's all for now. Go watch something Nerdy!

P.S. Check out the band The Naked and Famous and AWOLNATION. Excellent tunes. Oh also check out the soundtrack to The Fountain, specifically the song Death is the Road to Awe. It will change your life. Probably. Not. Probably not.

The Latest

What's happening in my life...
I got a new computer for AMAZINGLY cheap. And it's better than my old one AND has Windows xp instead of retarded Vista. Yay hurray.
Have started the actual writing of my book rather than working on the outline. It's... coming along.
Got the new Panic at the Disco album. So so.
That's about it. Seeya!

Three Stories Up

I finally finished the outline for my novel! It's the very first one I've ever written. Usually I write free-form(a.k.a. rambling) and it never really works out. I finished it last night so I am going to start the actual WRITING tonight or tommorrow. At the latest Wednesday. Hopefully.

On a different note...

Movies I'm Excited/Vaguely Curious To See!
I shall insert an E or VC to specify which is which.

-Immortals
VC
Honestly it kinda looks like a wannabe 300

-J. Edgar
 E
I don't think you can go wrong with Leo

-Warrior
E
This is a movie my wife will NEVER see

-The Debt
VC
Looked good at first but at the same time... what am I going to get out of it besides anxiety?

-The Big Year
VC
I'll admit a movie about bird watching seems kinda sketchy. But what the heck. Why not, right?

-Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn part 1
E&VC!!!
I'm really torn. Honestly I like the books and the movies are okay to watch. But at the same time it's almost to painful to watch them!

-THE MUPPETS!
E!
This could go either way but I'm choosing to be excited in a big way. I'm all in.

-Moneyball
E
Can't get enough Brad Pitt, right?

-In Time
VC
Meh...

-Footloose
E
Must admit I really want to see this. And my wife really doesn't. I'm totally the chick in this relationship.

-Anonymous
VC
The premise angers me but I'm willing to give it a try.

Well that's about it. I will admit my rating system leaves something to be desired. But I don't feel like making it more complicated so oh well.

In closing, let us morn two bands who have chosen this year to call it quits.

Baby You're A Classic Like A Little Black Dress a.k.a. Does It Get Old Hearing Me Say This?

I have started writing again?!!
"What what" you say, "This is news? Didn't you start writing again like ten trillion times already?"
Well first of all yes, and second of all shut up.
I am trying to do it completely right this time. Technically I haven't started the actual writing, I've just been working on crafting a KILLER outline. I don't usually do this and I think it will help because I'll actuall know where the story is going and not get overwhelmed.

In other news, Fall Out Boy needs to release some new stuff.

Ahh... Like a cold drink of water.
